The COVID-19 has given a huge and disproportionate impact on older persons, especially those living in long-term care facilities. In many countries, evidence shows that the case fatality for residents in long-term care facilities may be higher than population of the same age outside long-term care facilities. 

In this regard, WHO published a policy brief "Preventing and managing COVID-19 across long-term care services", which addresses current challenges related to COVID-19 and recommends 11 policy objectives to mitiage the impact of COVID-19 across long-term care.
