Established by the Human Rights Council, the Intergovernmental Working Group on the Human Rights of Older Persons (IGWG) is mandated to elaborate a legally binding instrument on the human rights of older persons, with a view of promoting, protecting and ensuring the full enjoyment of human rights by older persons. 

The second session of the IGWG will be held from 26 to 30 October 2026 in Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland.
