The ASEM Global Ageing Center (AGAC) is pleased to announce the release of the Korean translation of the “Conclusion Paper of the High-Level Group on Non-Discrimination, Equality and Diversity,” originally published by the European Union in December 2024.

This conclusion paper was developed to help establish a policy foundation at the EU level for promoting age equality and addressing age-based discrimination. Prepared at the request of the European Commission, the report reflects the work of a high-level expert group that collected and analyzed policies and experiences from various countries.

The report examines the concepts and current state of ageism and age discrimination, as well as their social and individual impacts. It also presents legal and policy responses at both the European and international levels. In particular, it adopts a life-course approach and outlines concrete actions to effectively address discrimination against older persons. Ultimately, the paper aims to serve as a starting point for strengthening policy cooperation and mutual learning among EU Member States, and for advancing toward a society free from discrimination based on age.
